The Bassment Welcomes DJ Fuze (Los Angeles, CA)

One of the best in the west

As we countdown to our debut on Real 92.3, L.A’s New Home For Hip Hop, we are very proud to announce that we have added an amazing talent to our roster! We welcome our new Bassment family member, DJ Fuze — hailing out of Los Angeles! Fuze is definitely one of the most sought after DJs in the west coast, as he adds the “DJ” element to each and every one of his sets!

We asked Fuze a series of questions! Peep his answers below and get to know Fuze a little more!

• What got you into DJing and how long has it been? And where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I remember my mom bought me my first turntable when I turned 15. I was so eager to scratch. Joe Hahn from Linkin Park, DJ Kilmore from Incubus, among others, were all scratching during their band’s songs and I thought the sounds they were creating on the turntables were amazing. I wanted to be like them. Later on I started hearing djs on the radio, and that got me more into the DJ scene. It’s now been 20 years since I first started djing. It’s been a long road with ups and downs but I wouldn’t have it any other way. In 5 years I see myself playing overseas, and hopefully running my own business in the music/DJ world.

Are you also into production? If so, how would you define your sound? (If not, is it something you’ve considered?)

I’ve been meaning to dig deeper into the production world. I’ve been focusing on the DJ craft for so long. It’s time to get started on the production side!

Where else can our audience hear you DJ (shows/events/live stream, radio, etc.)?

On Real 92.3 in Los Angeles. They can hear me Friday nights with Tino Cochino Radio, Saturday afternoons with The Cruz Show and now Saturday nights with the Radio Bassment with DJ Erock. In addition, they can hear me every Saturday on Sirius XM Globalization. Every month I have a featured series on Beatsource known as “20-Year View.” When I’m not on the airwaves, people can catch me djing events for UCLA athletics. All my mixes can be found on djfuzela.com or mixcloud.com/deejayfuze.

Who are some of the artists you’ve worked with, opened/closed up for?

I’ve had the opportunity to DJ numerous private events for Rihanna in the past. Definitely a highlight of my career.

If you could play music anywhere in the world, what are the top 3 places you would want to DJ?

I’m Mexican American, so playing in Mexico is definitely on my bucket list. I’d also love to play out in the UK and Africa at some point.

What’s your favorite quarantine snack?

Unfortunately Oreos. Hopefully I haven’t put on too much weight because of them.
