Special Guest DJ – Chizzle

One of Miami’s finest

If you’ve ever been to Miami, FL and have gone out to party, you’ve probably heard our guest DJ spinning at one of Miami’s premier nightclubs. Being based out in Miami, and currently traveling the nation, we welcome our guest DJ for the weekend, DJ Chizzle!

We sat down with Chizzle and asked him a few questions!

• What got you into DJing and how long has it been? Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I’ve always had a passion for music my whole life. In high school, an older friend, that I looked up to, was a DJ. I was fascinated when he would show me pictures and videos of his turntables. In 2009, I went to his home studio one day to see them, and immediately got intrigued. He guided me in the right direction; to buy two Technics and a mixer. I saved up money for all the equipment, and even a Serato box (SL1) and the rest is history.
I see myself gaining more residencies across the country and continuing to master the craft. I truly want to make a positive impact on the DJ community and display my love for the art at the same time. The beautiful things about djing and music are that there is always room to grow, improve, and create new / positive vibes!

• Are you also into production? If so, how would you define your sound? (If not, is it something you’ve considered?)

I currently make a lot of bootlegs, re-drums, and personal edits. Currently working on a few original tracks. Still learning about production side of things and hoping to continue to grow in the next 5 years.
I try to keep my sound similar, yet blending multiple genres to keep an original vibe; just like my music format. Some days I’ll feel a reggae/dancehall vibe; others I’ll mess around with a heavy trap / edm drop or Moomba. I try to master and learn about all genres of music.

• Where else can our audience hear you DJ (shows/events, radio, etc.)?

I currently live in Miami, and a resident here at E11even, Wall, Hyde, & Basement. In Ft Lauderdale, I have residencies at Sparrow, Rhythm & Vine, Sway, & The Wilder.
I also travel the country and this past year alone, have played in New York, Philly, Boston, Connecticut, Vegas, Reno, DC, Chicago, Houston, Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, Pittsburgh, Richmond, ATL, Sacramento, Orlando and other cities. Recently did an OKC / Nebraska run this past weekend, which was super cool!

• Who are some of the artists you’ve worked with, opened/closed up for?

I’ve opened for many dope DJs and artists. Some notable DJs include A-Trak, Craze, Jazzy Jeff, Skratch Bastid, Just Blaze, & Tony Touch. Some artists I have opened for in the club setting include Drake, Travis Scott, Future, Nas, 2 Chainz, Pusha T, French Montana, Tory Lanez, Young Thug, and a bunch of others. That’s the biggest perk of Miami, there’s always some sort of artist at the club events and the networking opportunities are endless since people go here to vacation.

• If you could play music anywhere in the world, what are the top 3 places you would want to DJ?

In the states, my goal is to play in Vegas at one of the major nightclubs including Hakkasan, Kaos, Marquee or TAO. Outside of the states, I really would love to travel to Dubai, France, and Italy to play and also see the world. That’s the beauty in music, is that it unifies people and is worldwide. I never would have dreamed; from going over my buddies play to see his turntables, would put me in a situation to travel and visit many places. The whole DJ community needs to really count their blessings that we get to do what we truly love each and every day.
