NEW MUSIC FRIDAY 9.25.20

The last Friday of the month and we have a pretty damn good line up of releases from artist we all love. So lets kick this off right…

SPILLAGE VILLAGE – Spilligion

If you saw this album and clicked play, you’ll most likely recognize a couple voices. This super group formed back in 2014 with original members WowGr8 and Olu of (Earth Gang), J.I.D, Judan Bryant and Hollywood JB. Soon after the first project Bears Like This, singers Mereba and 6lack joined the group. Now it’s 2020 the group adds another member Benji for the production side of things and release their first LP for Dreamville and Interscope Records. Spilligion is a 12 track album with notable features such as Chance The Rapper, Ari Lennox, Lucky Daye, Buddy and Masego.

ASAP FERG – Floor Seats II

The successor to August 2019’s Floor Seats. This action packed sequel includes features from Marilyn Manson, Lil Wayne, Tyga, Nicki Minaj, Diddy and MadeinTYO. Although as of late questions have been asked about Ferg’s status in the A$AP MOB. I think it’s pretty clear the Trap Lord is focus and going about his business as usual.

Stream Floor Seats 2 on all streaming platforms.

TRAVIS SCOTT – Franchise (Feat. Young Thug & M.I.A.)

Travis shows us how strong the brand is with this one. As of lately Travis has been in the headlines for his mega deal with McDonalds which included his own meal and tons of  exclusive merchandise. With that being said the only person to have a deal like this is none other than the great Michael Jordan. The Franchise music video actually takes place at Jordan’s mansion located in Chicago.

Young Thug and Travis have been working together for some time now but in a recent interview with Zane Lowe, Travis explains how the connection with M.I.A. came about. “She reached out to me for something for her album and we tracked it in London,” he said. “She’s just one of my favorite artists as humans.” He continued:

When I finished the song, I couldn’t think of nobody else that I could probably just maybe like, body this shit. You know what I’m saying? Body this shit like as hard as like anyone else, any other rapper, any other artists. And just that presence, man. We ain’t felt this presence in a long time. I’m just trying to get this gig shit like right man. We got to get better, right? You know what I’m saying? Like all of this, the energy man, music, beats, raps, God! Everything, she’s the illest of all time.

Stream the new single and check out the crazy visual.

DOM KENNEDY – Rap N Roll

West Coast legend drops a new album Rap N Roll. The 36 year old rapper shows us he can keep up with anyone in the game. Recently Dom has been featured on Big Sean‘s Detroit 2 , released a collaborative album with Hit-Boy for Half-A-Mil and at the end of 2019 executive produced  The Game‘s Born 2 Rap.

As far the featured guests on Rap n Roll Dom keeps it homegrown with Casey Veggies, TeeFLii,  24hrs, Niko G4, and Allyn. Dom also includes a tribute to dear friend Nipsey called “Saint Ermias”. I have a strong feeling the whole West Coast will be bumping this for weeks to come.
