As you all know, we always bring you some of the best DJs in the game. This coming weekend (3/15 & 3/16), we have a special guest who will be dropping a DJ set for us — originally from Pittsburgh, PA and currently making moves in Las Vegas, NV… We have the one and only DJ Maria Romano!
We sat down with Maria and asked her a few questions!
• What got you into DJing and how long has it been? And where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I started DJing when I was 11 because my brother DJ’d. With that, I started going with him every where he DJ’d and started playing. Its been 15 years, and in 5 years I see myself headlining in all major cities.
• Are you also into production? If so, how would you define your sound? (If not, is it something you’ve considered?)
I have dabbled into production, creating some remixes and what not. I definitely like more of the Caribbean sounds and am planning to get more involved within the next couple of years. For now, I have just been focusing on getting my DJ career in a good place.
• Where else can our audience hear you DJ?
I have residencies at Drai’s beach/night club, Drai’s after hours for our Imagine Tuesday parties, Hakkasan group, and a party called Deseo (which is a Latin night at Omnia).
• Who are some of the artists you’ve worked with, opened/closed up for?
I have opened for Wiz Khalifa, Nelly, 2 Chainz, Migos, T.I, Gucci Mane, Rae Sremmurd , Trey Songz, Pauly D, just to name the ones I can remember.
• If you could play music anywhere in the world, what are the top 3 places you would want to DJ?
Italy, Spain & Ibiza.
