HIP HOP LEGEND PRODIGY OF MOBB DEEP DIES AT 42

The hip-hop community lost one of its most beloved and respected MCs today when it was confirmed that Prodigy of Mobb Deep passed away. Prodigy was an important figure in and outside of music. In 2016, he brought some attention to jail conditions for inmates by creating a cookbook, Commissary Kitchen: My Infamous Prison Cookbook, inspired by the difficult times he had managing sickle cell anemia while in jail.

His death is a huge hit to the Hip Hop community, having influenced the New York scene, as well as continuing to mold the new generation. As one would expect, an outpouring of condolences has flooded timelines on multiple social media platforms from other Hip Hop legends.
