DJ KHALED TAKES MAJOR “L” FOR WORST EDC SET
EDC 2017 was a movie. There were so many great sets by EDM heavy hitters KYGO, Diplo, Porter Robinson, Seven Lions and more. But there were also some not so great moments. More specifically, the cringe worthy set put on by DJ Khaled which eventually caused the tens of thousands of people at the Cosmic Meadow stage to turn on Khaled, who was eventually ran off stage to the chants of “YELLOW CLAW, YELLOW CLAW”, who were slated to play after Khaled.
So how did this all go down? First, Khaled was over 25 minutes late to hit the stage. About 30 minutes into his set, Khaled finally takes the stage where things just got worse. Khaled claims there was a sound issue, and as far as being sabotaged, and making false claims that EDC staff were trying to cut his set short, and that he wasn’t going to perform until it was corrected. This was obviously something the fans didn’t believe considering that the set prior to Khaled went off without any issues.

During the awkward silence, Khaled tried his best to keep the party going, shouting out the crowds, promoting his new album, and talking about his new born son. But that was only a temporary solution, and fans were loosing patience fast. Even when the music finally came on, the DJ would stop the track, leaving the stage in a dead silence, and the fans in a state of confusion. Khaled continued to yell in the mic saying that he wasn’t going to leave the stage, and if this were happening to any other DJ, they would have left, “but I’m still here”, is what he continued to proclaim.
At this point Khaled performed for a total of 7-10 minutes, bleeding into Yellow Claw’s set time. And that’s when things just got worse for Khaled. As he tried to get the crowd to chant his name, but he was greeted with boos, and cries for Yellow Claw. The fans finally got what they wanted, and that was Khaled off stage. This is sure to go down as the most embarrassing set in the history of EDC.
